WHICH DAY MICHAEL BALFOUR OF MONQUHANY IS MADE A BROTHER OF
THE GUILD, BY REASON OF THE PRIVILEGE OF His FATHER.
MICHAEL BALFOUR was the eldest son of ANDREW BALFOUR of Monquhany, whose entry as a Burgess is recorded under date 29th March, 1565 (vide page 41).
He predeceased his father, and his son, MICHAEL, succeeded ANDREW BALFOUR, the grandfather, and was served heir to him in 1592.
Another representative of this ancient family was DAVID BALFOUR, Esq. of Balfour and Trenabie. Other members of ANDREW BALFOUR'S family were made Burgesses of Dundee at a later date.
